בעוד שלושה שבועות אני ממריאה לממלכה האנגלית, לביקור קצר ולשופינג ארוך, ולשמחתי הרבה גיליתי כי מוזיאון העיצוב בלונדון מציג תערוכה לכבודו של מסייה לובוטאן, מעצב הנעליים המוכשר עד כאב.
התערוכה מציינת 20 שנות עשייה של לובוטאן ובמסגרתה גם יוצגו זוגות נעליים שמעולם לא יוצרו בייצור המוני ושייכות לארכיונו האישי של המסייה.
לובוטאן הנושק לעשור החמישי בחייו החל לייצר נעליים עוד לפני גיל המצוות, התמחה בבית האופנה דיור ועיצב נעליים כמעט לכל בית אופנה נחשב כמו שנאל, איב סאן לורן וגדולים אחרים.
הסמל המסחרי המזוהה ביותר עם המותג היא כמובן הסולייה האדומה שהפכה לאייקון אופנתי בפניי עצמה.

The Design Museum presents iconic French shoe designer Christian Louboutin, celebrating a career which has pushed the boundaries of high fashion shoe design. This exhibition celebrates Louboutin’s career showcasing twenty years of designs and inspiration, revealing the artistry and theatricality of his shoe design from stilettos to lace-up boots, studded sneakers and bejewelled pumps.
